Teyuna mamos and zagas, spiritual leaders of the Arhuaco, Kankuamo, Kogi and Wiwa people of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region of Colombia have become increasingly concerned about the health of the planet. They’ve lived in the Sierra for eons and rarely ventured from the home they consider The Heart of the World, but feel it’s critical for them to do so now.
Recently, the mamos and zagas had a vision indicating an urgent need for them to perform pagamento, their sacred service that is literally payment to Earth Mother for supporting and sustaining all of creation, in the United States.
While here, they don’t wish to see the Grand Canyon or visit Times Square: they wish to answer a plea from Earth Mother, our collective home. They’re coming to the United States to do what has always been their mission: live in a space of harmony and through this space restore harmony from chaos.
The Teyuna’s vision sparked an initiative to undertake a 3-month tour for 16 mamos and zagas to
travel from Colombia to the United States to perform sacred service.
This tour will bring them to the Hudson Valley on September 8th-12th, 2018
You are cordially invited to gather with the Teyuna as they offer pagamento and share spiritual teachings and practices focused on ecological protection and healing, Earth’s well being, the role and function of all elements in the ecosystem, and an uncanny knowledge of astronomy.
When Teyuna mamos and zagas perform pagamento it activates segwa- divine seeds that are present and lying dormant in all beings, elements, and places on the planet. The land responds as if breathing a sigh of relief. Birds sing, and even rain falls. When nature is in harmony, we as humans are able to feel that accord, responding by relaxing and experiencing joy.
Through meditation and pagamento with the mamos and zagas, you will connect to something greater than the Self . You will connect to the eternal. Through these teachings you are cleansed and shown how to greet and give respect to the water, rocks and trees- For they each give us life; the water we drink, the earth we stand on and the air we breathe.
The harmony with nature that we are gifted to experience in the company of the mamos and zagas connects us to teachings that cleanse us spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. We naturally and effortlessly walk away with a profound respect for and connection to, the water, rocks, trees and each other.
"We need to listen because of the importance of their message. The Elder Brothers believe that they are guardians of life on earth. They see the world as a single living being which they have to look after and care for. Their whole way of life is dedicated to nurturing the flora and fauna of the world; they are, in short, an ecological community whose morality is wholly concerned with the health of the planet. Now, the Elder Brothers have seen the changes start which mark the end of life. The world is beginning to die. They know that we are killing it. That is why the Elder Brothers have spoken. They wish to warn us, and to teach us…" - Alan Ereira
